Opacity and OBD

Two tests. One yard visit.

Opacity

Smoke opacity, plus a visual check of the emissions equipment, for non-OBD and older diesel trucks. This is the semi-annual test.

OBD

A scan with a CARB-certified device. A recent normal drive before the test gives the monitors a chance to be ready.

One visit

A mixed yard can be both tests in the same visit. If you are not sure which test the trucks need, say so. I will sort that out before I come.

Passing results are submitted through CARB CTC-VIS.

What I do not do

I do not repair trucks, sell parts, or program engines. I do not clear a DMV hold on the spot. I do not need the trucks driven to a shop. I come to the yard.

I work about twenty to twenty-five hours a week. Email comes first, and I confirm the visit. This is not a 40-hour counter and not a same-day appointment.
